Prajna Annual Day Performance 2016

With the divine blessings of His Holiness Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji we concluded the 2015-16 Prajna year with the Prajna Annual Day Performance. The Prajna curriculum has been designed by our acharya, Sri Swamiji, by gathering the various pearls from our ancient Vedic literature. Prajna Annual Day performance is a joyous occasion for our students to showcase their learnings, their personalities and their traits in the form of reciting slokas, singing bhajans and performing skits

6. Introduction to Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi
In 2017 we will be celebrating the 1000 years of Sri Ramanujacharya’s appearance on Earth. Sriman Kalyan Rapolu will talk about the upcoming Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi and the Statue of Equality that is being constructed in India. When completed it will be the world’s largest sitting statue at 216 ft

7. “Jnana Sooridu”
Welcome to Sahasrabdi”, a dance composition by students from the Fremont center inviting all Bhagavatha Bandhus to the Ramanuja Sahasrabdi celebration through a Ra:ga:njali song

8. Vishnu Sahasranamam Avadhanam
Avadhanam is a literary performance popular from the very ancient days in India. The true purpose of an Avadhanam event is the showcasing through entertainment, superior mastery of cognitive capabilities of observation, memory, multitasking, task switching and retrieval. Students from various centers will be participating in the Vishnu Sahasranama Avadhanam to showcase their mastery of the first 25 slokas

9. “Randi Randi”
A dance composition through a Ra:ga:njali song  inviting to all bhagavad bandhus for Ramanuja Sahasrabdi celebrations performed by students from Evergreen center

10. Hayagriva Stotram
“Haya” means Horse and “griva” means neck. The horse-necked Lord Hayagriva is the God of knowledge and wisdom. Recitation by the students from the Module 3 class from San Ramon center

11. “Gathulanni Khilamaina”
"Gathulanni Khilamaina” is a wonderful keerthana composed by one of the great music composers Annamacharya on Bhagavad Ramanuja. Song performance by the students of Module 4 class from Dublin center

“Life of Bhagavad Sri Ramanujacharya” performances

12. Part 1: Birth of Sri Ramanujacharya
The skit will be sharing highlights in the life of our Acharya from his birth to how he drove away a Brahma Rakshasa to save the Chola king’s daughter. This performance is performed by the students from Evergreen center

13. Part 2: Ramanujacharya’s Samasrayanam
In the month of Avani, on the Sukla Panchami day, Peria Nambigal gave the Samasrayanam or Pancha Samskaram to Swami Ramanuja. The skit showcases the highlights from Swami Ramanuja’s Samasrayanam to his completion of spiritual education. The skit is performed  by our students from Cupertino center

14. Part 3: Ramanujacharya’s vision of Equality
Thirukoshtiyur is located in the state of Tamil Nadu in South India and is one of the 108 Divya Desams and is famous for the Soumya Narayana Perumal Temple. Sri Ramanuja visited Thirukoshtiyur 18 times from Sri Rangam. The skit will highlight Swami Ramanuja’s concept of equality amongst mankind and is performed by the students from Fremont center

15. Certificates and Group Photo
